First Baptist is a Bible believing, independent, discipling church. We strongly encourage everyone to study the scriptures and become a follower of Jesus Christ. If you are looking for a place to learn how to love God and love others, this is the place for you.

Our Pastors & Staff
Steve Scott
Lead Pastor
Pastor Steve and his wife Cindy Kay are from North Dakota. Pastor Steve became the new pastor in November 2023 and loves Iowa weather! They feel like this is the sunbelt compared to what they are used to in North Dakota. They have four children. Nicolas is the only one still living at home and is actively involved in First Baptist.
They love to disciple individuals, counsel couples and encourage believers to love, study and follow the Bible. We are thrilled they are leading First Baptist with grace and compassion for people!
Mark Bell
Youth Director
Mark and Courtney have been married 14 years. They two young children and a dog Bebo. They love camping, hiking and fossil hunting.
Mark has been involved with youth ministry most of his adult life and loves to teach apologetics especially from the book of Genesis. Courtney is a teacher/educator at Great River Christian school.
Cindy Stewart
Church Office Coordinator
Cindy lives with her rescue dog, Alice. She retired from the State of Iowa after 28 years with Child Support Services and now enjoys serving the Lord as Church Office Coordinator at the First Baptist Church.
